I make sculptures out of found materials. I am obsessed with giving “trash” a new life, because it deserves one. I combine the object’s previous purpose with something new and unexpected.

I make oil paintings that begin with a memory I want to preserve or a feeling that turns into a distorted reality.

Through my work, I aim to communicate feelings of existential dread, the remnants of childhood, the experience of being a woman, and the darkness that peaks through seemingly bright and innocent looking things. I am interested in investigating the strangeness in myself, and all of us. How can we integrate the parts of ourselves we reject? Perhaps through these unusual creations, the inner misfit feels more at home.

I ask the viewer to look at the work and embrace everything within themselves with playfulness, curiosity, and discomfort too.
